When you tap a job, you land on the job details screen - and this is where everything comes together. Client contact info, the linked quote amount, your notes, status controls, and one-tap actions to call, email, or navigate. Think of it as mission control for each job you do.
Let's walk through what you'll find here and how to use it.
Getting to Job Details
You can open any job's details from several places:
- From your calendar - Tap any job block in day or week view
- From your dashboard - Tap a job in "Today's Jobs" or "Upcoming Jobs"
- From a client profile - Find the job in their job history and tap it
- From a quote - If the quote has a linked job, tap to view it
No matter how you get there, you'll see the same comprehensive view.
What You'll See
The job details screen organizes information into clear sections so you can find what you need quickly.

At the very top, you'll find:
- Job title - The name you gave this job when you created it

- Quote number - The reference ID for easy lookup
- Quote amount - Total value of the work
- Quote status - Whether it's draft, sent, or accepted
Tap the quote section to view the complete quote with all line items. This is especially handy when you need to remind yourself exactly what you agreed to do.

Everything you added when creating or editing the job shows up here. This might include:
- Special instructions for the work

This history is especially useful when you need to look back and understand what happened with a particular job.
How Jobs Connect to Your Dashboard
Everything you do on the job details screen flows into your dashboard:

- This Week's Jobs - Totals from your weekly calendar
- Completed This Month - Jobs you've marked as Completed
- Revenue - Calculated from completed jobs with linked quotes
Keeping your job details accurate - especially status and linked quotes - means your dashboard shows the real state of your business. When you complete a job, mark it. When something changes, update it. Your reports will be better for it.
Tips for Using Job Details Effectively
A few habits that make a real difference:
-
Update status when it happens - Tap "Start Job" when you arrive, "Complete Job" when you finish. Real-time updates keep everything accurate.
-
Add notes liberally - If there's any information that might help you do the job, put it in the notes. Gate codes, parking situations, client quirks - it all helps.
-
Always link quotes - A job without a linked quote doesn't contribute to your revenue tracking. Make the connection and your numbers stay accurate.
-
Use directions before you leave - Check the route and ETA from the job details screen. Plan your departure time accordingly.
-
Tap the client card - Need more context about who you're working for? One tap takes you to their full profile with all their history.
Everything in One Place
That's the philosophy behind the job details screen. You shouldn't have to bounce between apps or screens to find what you need for a job. Client info, quote details, notes, directions, calling, emailing - it's all right here, ready when you need it.
Tap a job, get everything. That's how it should work.
